How this is estimated

When you scan a meal, log a menu item, or scan a barcode, Ketovore estimates the oxalate from what it identifies. Animal foods — meat, eggs, fish, most cheese — are near zero. The high-oxalate foods are a known short list: spinach, chard, beet greens, rhubarb, almonds and most nuts, cocoa, potato, sweet potato, soy, wheat bran, and black tea.

These are estimates to guide your choices — not lab values, and not medical advice. If you manage kidney stones or a medical low-oxalate diet, follow your clinician's numbers.
